XCom Shooter Delayed to 2013
2K's new XCom shooter has been pushed back into 2013.
This is starting to obtain a moment weird. First, 2K Games announces a reboot of the known X-Com franchise, leave out not with a scheme game but with a shooter based on the series. General sake is a trifle on the tepid side, while old-clock X-Com fans go nuts o'er not getting a "realistic" sequel. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, 2K reveals that Firaxis is in fact practical on an X-Com remake of its possess entitled XCom: Enemy Unknown, an genuine do-over of the original strategy game.
No release date for that game has been set, but today it's come to livid that the planned XCom triggerman has been significantly delayed and or else of coming call at March of this year as expected, it leave now launch sometime in 2013. Reasons for the delay weren't given merely reported to IGN, 2K immediately wants to relaunch the franchise with Foeman Unfamiliar rather than the shooter, which at this point is still "subtitle unknown."
What LED to the exchange of heart? It's possible that whol the wounded rattling led 2K to decide that rebooting the dealership as a shooter was a enormous misunderstanding, just I'm not convinced that giving the cyberspace what it wants is a good idea, peculiarly when you're talking about bringing a 20-year-old strategy game to consoles. And if that is the case – if 2K has decided that strategy is the future – and so does a shooter really fit into that plan? I wouldn't be at all jiggered if further XCom-related shenanigans are in the offing.
